Places to sleep aren't always labeled. Unlike in ATS, they aren't always labeled on the navigation map in this game. If you look for the P sign on roads, you might find an unlabeled place to sleep. That "slep meter"is actually a "time-left-of-allowed-in-duty" for the daily rest by law. You can't configure the law at will.. I prefer the sleep requirement as it is since it's an important component of the simulation. I worry about not finding an open parking space for rest when I pull in with 5 mins to spare.

The way I try to work around this is to take primarily External jobs and to double sleep every second day. Just as an example, wake at 10:30, drive until 21:00, sleep until 06:00, drive until 16:30, sleep until 01:30 and then again to 10:30, rinse and repeat. Now it is an inexact science because the rest stops don't appear at exactly the right intervals, but there is an hour of slack across
Viewed 20k times. 20. It seems that rest is by default 8 hours. I pull into the spot and pull out 8 hours later well-rested. The issue, sometimes, is that waiting 8 hours is going to make your cargo late. I could rest for 4 hours, however, and still make the delivery on time.

As a last resort with the braking, go into your Options>Gameplay menu and scroll down to Truck Settings. Yes, you have to sleep even if there is still three hours of driving to reach your destination Just to clarify this point: When you only have 3-4 hours of driving time left, it is time to check the map for where the next rest area is, and possibly get a viapoint there. Most rest areas have a driving time of 2-3 hours between them .. But Not all.
